“Even a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” (Chinese proverb)
In an age where we are bombarded with advertising, seduced by access to limitless information on the internet, choked by noise and traffic and stifled by crammed routines, we need moments of silence in nature. Here, the blue tree of life is growing in a soundless golden desert where a figure silences us with a findsecretselffinger.
One eye is free from the dictates of time, while the other is blotted out by a clock which stands at five to twelve and sucks helpless Hungerfish into its vortex. Our hectic, artificial world the three tower blocks on the skyline retreats temporarily into the distance.
Alchemysnakes curl and recurl into all available spaces spaces we can use for meditation. Like snakes we can recoil, retreat to the desert, shed our outer skins and gain new perspectives. The figure’s new thoughts emerge from a spawnorifice into a green sky and float slowly towards golden arcs of enlightenment.
